TFM training groups are open to walkers as well as runners. We often look for goal events where walkers can start before the runners. We also have the annual membership option which includes events in addition to or other than running.
The 5k group meets once mid-week at 6:00 pm, Wednesday or Thursday, and once per weekend at 8:00 or 9:00 am on alternating Saturdays/Sundays. There are 5k workouts offered each week in two locations and on different days, Bennington or Manchester, in an effort to help you tailor the training plan according to your needs and schedule.
The 10k, half marathon and full marathon groups meet once per weekend on alternating Saturdays/Sundays in either Bennington or Manchester. These groups are also invited to join the mid-week 5k workouts in either location of Bennington or Manchester.
When you register for a specific training group you’ll be given the comprehensive training plan. Although it’s great when you can join us and you do benefit from the group atmosphere, you can certainly still train on your own. We understand not everyone can make every workout.
Our motto is “Your Race, Your Pace”, therefore, all paces in running and/or walking are welcome.
You do not need to be in a training group to be a TFM member. There is an annual membership option to be included in activities other than running or running with the training group.
Although our membership is primarily women, TFM is open to both men and women.
People get sick and miss workouts; it’s inevitable. What’s important is that you be in touch with your Coach so we can work together to safely catch you back up to speed without injury.
As you ask new things of your body you may experience issues which need attention. You should never push through pain. Always listen to your body and have open communication with the Coach. You may be referred to a medical professional but it’s necessary to address any and all medical concerns before they lead to worsening problems which could put you out of training or at risk for permanent injury.
